Olumide Damilola

Olumide is a longtime writer who started his career as a digital marketer before transitioning into a copywriter almost eight years ago.

Biography

In his career journey as a digital marketer and copywriter, Olumide has been privileged to work with numerous marketing and PR agencies across Toronto, Hamilton and Montreal. He has written over a million words of copies covering a wide gamut of computer programming, web and app development, not to mention a plethora of tech-focused copies.

Olumide has been a technical SEO copywriter at Crone Media since 2016. In addition to writing for CM, he also works as a lead writer at Marketing Breakthroughs, managing a team of writers that oversee large-scale copywriting projects. Between 2010 and 2014, Olumide was writer-at-large at Papillon, a copywriting agency in Hamilton, as well as a part-time writer at Yango, and, more recently, Digital Stripes in Montreal.

Though gaming-focused copies are generally his favorite projects, pretty much anyone with computer programming languages to master or illustrate has a good chance of capturing his interest – especially if his expertise provides significant value to the project.

He has followed future themes in the computing world, including machine learning, artificial intelligence, and robotic process automation. On the marketing side, Olumide has helped a variety of clients to build better customer relationships through social media, content marketing and public relations. He especially enjoys using his marketing insight and expertise, helping people in all aspects of online marketing flows through the expert industry coverage he provides.

Since much of Olumide’s world revolves around tech, electronic media and AI, he likes to blow off steam through community building and working collaboratively with his peers. He has volunteered through schemes over the years, including The Good Neighbor Project and #StitchforCorona in Toronto.

Finally, Olumide is a bit of a sportsperson himself, regularly playing soccer or surfing over short distances. He knows full well the benefit of combining fun with work. Early mornings are his best time in the day. Seek him out, and you will be sure to find him at his home or workplace, surrounded by towering books from the greats. His best authors since 2012 still remain Joseph Sugarman and Tracy Kidder.

Olumide holds a bachelor’s degree in Arts from the Canadian Mennonite University. A writer by day and a reader by night, he loathes to discuss himself in the third person but can be persuaded to do so from time to time.
